We regret to inform you of the passing of a long time faithful and active member of the Society, Nick Volk. He was Vice-President of the National Council from 1995 to 2001 and then President of the Regional Council of Ontario from 2001 to 2006. Nick was instrumental in the establishment of Gower Park Place and worked tirelessly in his efforts to ensure persons and families had access to affordable housing. Sincere condolences to his family, his friends and the Vincentian family.

We are sorry to announce the passing of Thomas O’Flynn, former President of the British-Columbia & Yukon Regional Council. He left us on July 19th. Thomas was an active and devoted Vincentian in his city of Vancouver. Sincere condolences to his family, his friends and the entire Vincentian family.

National Volunteer Week - Thank You

“Resonate Music school and studio”, in collaboration with song writer Terry Harris, are initiating a fundraiser featuring the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s North of 60 Project as one of three designated charities for visitors to support. Please click on title to read more.

Who is Eligible? All youth and young adults (under the age of 35) who are active members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Canada, pursuing post-secondary education (CEGEP, college, or university) in Canada. Please click on the title to read more.

Members of the Mère Térésa Conference, Moncton NB, brought assistance and comfort to victims of the Acadian Peninsula. They filled a family van with foodstuffs and traveled to 3 villages to help 5 families with a total of 17 children. The SSVP National Emergency Relief Committee sent funds to cover costs.

The International Council General of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP - CGI), is launching a literary contest entitled ‘The First Conference’ to highlight the life of its First President General to whom this year is dedicated.  Please click on title to read more.
